Angelina Darrisaw joined Google as the New York Digital Coach. This pilot program launched last week in 9 cities across the United States (Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, DC, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco). Angelina joined the other 8 coaches at a launch event at Google San Francisco to introduce the program, which includes providing free resources, workshops, and coaching to local diverse small businesses.
Today, the New York program officially launched at Google's New York office, bringing together nearly 200 diverse small business owners, community leaders, and organizations invested in small business success. Moet Hennessy provided libations, as businesses networked and celebrated Google's investment in educating business owners on how to better use their tools and in closing the technology gap.
The program included remarks from:
Google's Director of Agency Business Development - Nelson Boyce
Google Coaching Programming Lead - Aisha Taylor
Senior Advisor and Director at the Mayor's Office of Minority and Women Owned Businesses - Jonnel Doris
Moet Hennessy Senior Director of Multicultural - Manny Gonzalez
Founder of C-Suite Coach and New York Digital Coach - Angelina Darrisaw
In her remarks, Angelina emphasized that entrepreneurship in diverse communities is not new, but will require new learning and new technology to scale growth. Workshops will kick off next week and will happen several times a month both at Google, as well as locally throughout New York.
