Policy Over Plates: A Powerful Evening of Learning and Advocacy

I continue to be inspired by thought leaders who are driving meaningful change. This past week, I had the privilege of joining DeRay Mckesson for one of the most informative dinner parties I've ever attended. Much like a "lunch and learn," we enjoyed incredible food while diving into a dynamic conversation about local policy.

We tackled engaging quizzes, exploring questions like the appointment process for the Civilian Complaint Review Board and the origins and effectiveness of various organizations. It was an incredibly impactful experience that illuminated an area where I'm eager to deepen my engagement: community politics and advocacy.

This experience reinforced the importance of continuous learning and active participation in the issues that shape our communities. I'm committed to growing my awareness and skills in this critical area, and I'm excited about the opportunities to contribute more meaningfully. Thankful for the work of Campaign zero.

What are your thoughts on engaging with local policy and community advocacy? I'd love to hear about your experiences and insights.
