The Magic of Intentional Networking: Transforming a Houston Business Trip into a Community-Building Event

My travel schedule is often aggressive, and the desire to get home quickly is strong. But every trip is also a unique chance to strengthen the exciting web of professional relationships across the country that fuel our work in L&D and executive coaching.

Recently, in Houston for the J.P. Morgan Chase event, I decided to shift my mindset from "in-and-out" to "in-and-invest." I sent an early invitation to a group of phenomenal professionals from a variety of industries, many who didn't know each other, to join me for dinner.

The resulting evening was pure magic. Witnessing these leaders generously share opportunities and make powerful connections among themselves was powerful and much needed in a time where we can all benefit from building more community.
